Not quite sure how it happened, but Mr Postman brought me TWO packs of fabrics I seem to have ordered
However, I still don't have enough - no, don't laugh, I seriously don't have enough - I started to make this Somerset Star as a sample for a class I'm teaching on Friday,
And I'm one red triangle short!!!
Can anyone think of a good reason why one should be a different colour to the rest, or do I have to use it as a this-is-what-can-happen-if-you-don't-prepare-properly example?
I started this blog for me - it expanded to show BFF Jackie what I was doing - and a few others have invited themselves too - everybody welcome! Mostly about patchwork, with random comments about embroidery, family and life in general, come on in, put your feet up, and I'll put the [virtual] kettle on.
It's always nice when fabric comes in the mail. Unless you need the green and red block for something other than the class, I'd use the green as an example of preparing, like you said. In any case, it is beautiful. : )
ReplyDeleteYes I agree. It breaks up the flow of the pattern if you throw in the green. It's a gorgeous star tho
ReplyDeleteand you are talking about awesome on my blog...??
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome!!!
Where did you find the pattern? (Not that I'll ever be able to make anything like this, but one can dream)
I love fabric in the mail! The block looks cool. I thought it was meant to look like that. Kinda like a ferris wheel or a snow globe.
ReplyDeleteThat sure is an eclectic mix!
ReplyDeleteAs for the missing section... you're on your own!
Hmm, you don't sound in the least bit contrite about all those parcels. Sure you need more though...
ReplyDeleteNEVER have too much fabric... for the very reason you show us ! lol xx
ReplyDeleteMore fabric, surely always a good thing? After all, we can see what happens when someone runs out of a colour (really? after all those quilts with red in you don't have something that you can substitute / go half and half with?). It looks really nice, Benta, and I'm disappointed for you that you don't have that final piece of fabric!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure nobody would mind. After all, you are supposed to teach them techniques, not perfect pieces!! xxx
