2021 Week 26

Sorry - photo overload . . . you have been warned!

I know this is mostly a crafty blog - but I did make this gorgeous girl!!!!

#2 daughter is still best friends with three girls she met at school (aged just 5) and two of then are getting married this year . . . and having the other 3 as their bridesmaids.  The first wedding was last Saturday.

This little minx is the next bride to be in a few weeks time

The bridesmaids and their partners (just the groom missing!)

We found the groom

Niki wanted a photo with "Mumma and Papa P" - the brides' parents.

He started his speech by thanking the bridesmaids and how they'd been in and out of his house so often throughout their childhood he thought of them as extra daughters - that set them all off sobbing . . . luckily I had made plenty of tissue cases so they could dry their eyes!  (Talk to Me ginger is nothing to do with the wedding, he just wanted to be in the photo!)

I made tissue cases with white embroidery for bride and groom (or may have forgotten the change the thread but keep that under your hat!) which went down well too . . . as did the ginger bride and groom!

I was given one of the table displays and am currently drying all the flowers - I'm experimenting with resin but they need to be dry first -

I've also got some flowers being pressed, and one bud (hopefully) drying in salt

There was a bit of dress lining and a fair bit of dress fabric left after the (very traumatic) taking up of the dress so I made a rope bowl, maybe to put the resin results in.

2018 Wk 51 - !!! I'm not ready !!!

I need a pause button!

JUST TWO SLEEPS TO GO!!!

OK, so the dodgy raffle block has been corrected

The spare bedroom has been tidied so Niki can sleep there tomorrow night

I wasted time at work last week doodling through a team meeting!  Shame it's got confidential details under the highlighter - I'm quite please with this one

I've finished travel tags for the Christmas stockings

Thanks to Mr Amazon, a picture frame ordered yesterday arrived this afternoon, so a picture (sketch? pictorial representation?) I did of mum's family tree starting with her grandparents has been framed and is just waiting to be wrapped - that's all Christmas Day pressies finished

And two to-be-posted gifts have been finished (hand stitching not too shabby!)

But another three are still only pinned and there are NO POSTING DAYS TO CHRISTMAS!!!!

So there are some people who are going to be getting Happy New Year squishy pressies instead of Merry Christmas ones! (Sorry!!)

To do list :
Tidy sitting room and dining room so we have a place to sit and a place to eat,
Buy fresh fruit for fruit salad tomorrow night
Go to work for a few hours tomorrow to hand over keys etc
Wish everyone Merry Christmas

See you on the other side!

Three finishes on my List

The first finish hadn't actually made it *to* the list, so I've added it and crossed it off, which is a very happy feeling.  These are made 'in the hoop' - which kind of means I do a little bit of work on the computer and the press go on the embroidery machine and it does all the hard work!  A whole load of little 'thinking of you at Christmas' gifts sorted

This is an I-Spy quilt for a friend who has just become a Great Auntie to a baby called Chloe.  Her name is embroidered on the ballet fabric, but you can hardly see it.

And while watching the first half of the Bone Hunter last night I finished the binding on Warm Memories and Stars - this may be for a teacher leaving school at the end of the year.  I have two finished and they can now go to school where someone with decision making abilities can choose!

So the new and improved list now looks like this:
  • START Nicky's Book Block (Out of Africa)
  • START Janine's Butterfly block (Out of Africa)
  • START Christmas sacks for Liam and Harry
  • START 12 place mats for Carol
  • START 2 Pairs of Patchwork boots
  • FINISH I-Spy for Liz
  • FINISH Christmas sack for Chloe
  • FINISH Christmas sack for Richard
  • FINISH Christmas Tree by Candlelight wall hanging
  • FINISH Napkins for Anna
  • Batik Square Dance
  • I-Spy for Dina
  • Christmas Waistcoat
  • In The Hoop Gifts
  •  I-Spy for Jane (Chloe)
  • Warm Stars quilt for Philippa
