I know that the likes of Disney and George Lucas films copyright their logos in order to protect income from their movies, and two project ideas recently have led me to investigate the law relating to logos.
Unfortunately it's all tied up in such legal mumbo jumbo that I haven't been able to find an answer. So for the following two embroidery designs I used my own moral compass (both designs are being stitched just once, for a child, and I am not being paid to create or stitch them, and both children already have lots of things with the logo on that have been bought therefore bringing revenue to the copyright owner and I found both images as colouring in pages available from Google, not from the copyright owner or their website), and I hope I'm not going to be arrested!
For the Richmond and Kew Consequences Quilt (3rd round) the owner wants a Star Wars themed block. I would love to make Kristy's paper pieced R2D2 but I don't know that my piecing skills are up to it, but I do know that my machine embroidery design skill *are* up to creating it for machine embroidery, so one block created, one block under consideration
And for fun it's stitched it in glow-in-the-dark thread!
My second design is from Disney: my great niece (I feel so old writing that) is moving from a cot bed to a big girl's bed, (so the twins can move from moses baskets into the cot). As part of the encouragement, she was having her room decorated with an Ariel theme: her favourite Disney movie, so I designed and stitched this for her pillowcase:
I hope you will come and visit me in prison if I get arrested! I'm now going to tackle R2D2
I started this blog for me - it expanded to show BFF Jackie what I was doing - and a few others have invited themselves too - everybody welcome! Mostly about patchwork, with random comments about embroidery, family and life in general, come on in, put your feet up, and I'll put the [virtual] kettle on.

Days of Distractions
I don't feel I've done much sewing recently: it's report time at work so I've been doing overtime proof reading and preparing report covers, letters, stickers on envelopes (learning how to mail merge!)
We've had World Book Day (the penguin is me)
I've looked after baby Lucia, with the help of my own baby
I've cut tessellating blocks for Jackie
And today I've been shopping with my mummy and we meet Niki for lunch!
One day I'll get back to the sewing room!

Half Day Happiness
I love half days - the kind where I get away from work actually on time, come home to a cuppa with Niki (who was on her way to first tutor a couple of children, and then go to work at the bowling alley until midnight) and then sew :-)
I nearly finished two draw string bags for a friend's twins (the older set of twins had similar bags about 5 years ago!) Just need to get into town to get some cord
I stuffed and finished Lucia's taggie "L" - thanks for the tip Plum, I put the bell into a plastic bag before I put it into the L
And I stitched and stitched and stitched that pile of 2.5 inch strips into a quilt top about 58" x 42" (150 x 110cm)
The are at least 50% I-Spy fabrics, so they make a really busy quilt top, but I am loving these scrappy Jelly Rolls.
Of course none of these were even on the UFO list, so that hasn't improved at all, but I've had a lovely time!!!

An L of an urge
I needed to sew - it's been 5 weeks (whinged the addict).
I managed to join some of the I-Spy squares into 4 strips of 6 fabrics (no pics, they are on the ironing board downstairs), and I pieced some of the scrappy strips into an L shaped taggie for baby Lucia: Fleece on the back, picture fabrics on the front, and loads of bits of ribbon poking out of the side seams.
Very busy, very colourful, and lots of textures for little fingers.

I haven't stitched the opening closed yet - if I can find some bells I might stuff it loosely and put a few inside instead of leaving it flat, who knows!
