2002 Wk 45 - Where does time go?

 I actually done some quilting!  I'm part of a FB hexi flower swap: we get a different theme each month.  I made six roughly the same, keep one and post the others out, and bu the end of the next month I should have 6 (including mine) Here are my November (poppies theme) ready to be posted)

And my October forget-me-not themed flowers that have arrived

I joined all the previous ones together into a flimsey and quilted it

And have now added the binding, so it's all ready for Linus Quilts

The vicar's wife sent me this message and photo!  It's so lovely to see quilts being used and loved after all these years!

Husband and I had a day out (just before lockdown 2) at Saville Gardens.  I didn't take many pics but I rather liked this installation which has water continuously cascading down the discs 

And we were rather taken with this too

I have been EPPing - triangles rather than hexies this time - it's growing

and I've had yet another attempt at my circular crochet - clearly I've just found yet another way to make a bowl rather than a flat circle!!!

Two friends came and sat socially distanced while we have a lovely "Crafternoon" thank you Lynne and Tara for your company and a lovely afternoon (as well as the cakes and scones!!!)

I decided to go large for a Remembrance Day ginger

And made this for friends who are moving out of the village.  I cant find a photo of all the house but here is part of it and my version.  They were delighted!

2020 Wk 24 - Hello Blogland People

I cant believe it's June already: we are nearly half way through the year!

I finally received a delivery of white fleece so prepped a whole load of flimsies for quilting:

The Hexi rounds,

A spare I Spy

A spare Children's quilt (probably going to Linus Quilts)

The EPP Elongated Pentagon Plus Quilt

And then I got to quilting!  The children's quilts aren't very exciting, but I'm rather chuffed with the Hexie Rounds: Lizzie did the first 8" of spiral which is the really hard bit, and then I took over and went out to the edges

I used the same Lizzie spiral on the plus quilt.  No need for me to carry on, the 8" was perfect.  

I wondered whether to do every centre and have them overlapping but I halved the work and just did alternate ones.  I need to visit a shop to get the right binding for this one, so it'll be a while!

This quilt found a good home with a colleague's daughter for her 10th birthday

The girls and I attended an on-line painting party, I'm not sure we are made to be painters but it was a great evening!

The Australian hexies and stars quilt top has been quilted, has had borders added and has had the binding finished.  Annoyingly the latest delivery of black isn't the same shade of black as the one I used as the infill border - cant be helped as I cant go to a shop and compare: at least it's finished!

My current hand sewing project is Windsor Castle again.  I didn't like some of the tree designs, so I'm unpicking and replacing with smaller more random stitches

2020 Wk 12 - I'm not going to mention it

The elephant in the room is being ignored!!!!

I've been doing a lot of admin but I've also snuck in some sewing and I'm hoping one will reduce and one will increase.

Mum and I attended a Linus Quilt sewing event at Chertsey Museum last weekend.  We dropped off some donated fabric, I did some sewing and mum did some ironing: we left them with this flimsey

At home I've been looking at this mess . . . and giving up: I don't know where to start tidying it up - there is 3/4 of a jelly roll race buried under there somewhere which could do with finishing . . . another day!

I have been doing some hand sewing though.  This got put away in January looking like this

but I've now started from the other end, so it has progressed to this
