(S)cream

I shall scream if I have to do another cream quilt soon

I started with two - one for a January baby,
one for a February baby.

STOCK = 2

The January baby was Henry,
but I managed to embroider Harry on the quilt,
so that went on the waste pile

WASTE = 1
STOCK = 1

I used the spare one for Harry
WASTE = 1
STOCK = 0
DELIVERED = 1

Then Lisa's friend, Roseena wanted a cream quilt
for her 21st, so I made a whirly gig one

    WASTE = 1
STOCK = 0
DELIVERED = 2

Then the February baby arrived: Luke.
I made the prefect point quit for him, which looks fab,
but is stiff like cardboard - so onto the waste pile

WASTE = 2
STOCK = 0
DELIVERED = 2

Then I made another Orphan block D9P,
and successfully managed to embroider Luke's name
onto it, and deliver it to the customer

WASTE = 2
STOCK = 0
DELIVERED = 3

Phew!

A finish, and a fair attempt!

 I have finally finished the Brown and Brights D9P

And I have repaired a suit for the organist at church, and done some work on Heather's Black and White and Pink, and have quilted and started binding the Green and Pink Pin Wheels

So some things are changing from to be done to 'Finished' on the UFO sidebar!

Sunshine, Starbucks, Shopping and Sunday Sewing

Wasn't today a lovely day!  (Well it was here, and in London, hope it was where you live too!)  I have a week off as it's half term here, so Lisa and I met up at Camden Market.  Golly, it's bigger than I remember it when I was her age!

Anyway we walked miles and miles, and did some shopping - got a few Christmas pressies - and sat in the sunshine having a Starbucks watching the boats go through the lock, bliss!

Yesterday, Sunday, I managed to get quite a lot of sewing done, but didn't get around to posting anything here.

This Disappearing 9 patch got basted, quilted, and the binding got attached to the front, and partially hand stitched to the back

This one, Flower (to the) Power (of 9), also got basted, and quilted and had the binding attached to the front, and is in the hand sewing pile waiting for something decent on TV.  Admittedly neither are on the to-be-done-soon list, but if I can get them finished by the craft fair in 3 weeks I might earn some money, so that makes them quite important!

Think I'm done with alliteration for now, except I'm feeling sleepy, so I shall slink off and snooze between the sheets!!!

MORE piecing

I usually buy fabric with a vague idea as to how I'll use it, then change my mind several times, then change my mind again . . .you get the picture!

BUT . . . as soon as I saw these two fabrics I KNEW what I was going to make with them, and yesterday I got the urge!

The fabric got

cut into 6 inch squares,

stitched into Nine Patches,
cut into quarters,

stitched back together again

again

and again

and again,

and just look at the scrummy yumminess that resulted!!!

I am so in love with this combination, but have no idea what to call it, or what to do with it.  Hopefully someone will have a baby girl soon!!! and hopefully a better name than "Brown & Flowers Disappearing 9 Patch" will occur to me!!!

Meanwhile - Jackie - I've run out of the fabric, if you are seeing AnneMarie before you come over can you get me a yard of the brown, and half a yard of the flowers for the borders and the binding, pretty please
