chopping charms

Our return home from Florida was, thank goodness, uneventful, and I spent yesterday with the girls, in between yawning and doing loads of washing, and today was back to school.

This evening I had the house to myself, so I chopped the fabric for the charm square swap while I listened to "the help" on audio book.

I was having such a lovely time I then started chopping more of my new fabrics into 5" and 8" squares ready for more I-spy quilts.  A lovely evening

  3. Welcome back. This is a lovely way to spend an evening (ohh I feel a song coming on). I too loved the book 'The Help' - just read 'Gilead' bt Marylyn Robinson (it has two offshoots - 'Home' and 'Housekeeping' and loved them too) - kept me occupied on holiday.

  4. Great fabric for an I spy quilt ! Congrats to a wonderful evening ;-)) I love those silent evenings, too - just me, fabric and a book to listen to ... well, and the occasional cat demanding my attention ;-))

  9. Great scott, woman! Can't you spend even one evening doing nothing? You went back to work, after all, wasn't that enough without putting the rest of us to shame?!? ;-) Glad that you're home safe and back with your sewing machine....x

  10. Oh I'm a bag of nerves with charm cutting. End up really stiff and sore. But it sure is handy to have charms of your stash... gets you stuck in using it quicker!!!
