Some Quilt Festivals ask that any photos taken are for private use only: as this blog is more a record for me, and doesn't have a very high readership anyway I'm going to hope it's OK to post a few mosaics here of some of the quilt photos I took at Festival of Quilts. The original photos are being loaded to the Private Use tab (see above)
These first quilts are mini quilts, generally 8 or 10 inches high. To give you a point of reference, the wooden 'pole' they are hanging from is 1cm diameter!
The winning quilt was a whole cloth - again remember that the pole is 1cm!!!
I started this blog for me - it expanded to show BFF Jackie what I was doing - and a few others have invited themselves too - everybody welcome! Mostly about patchwork, with random comments about embroidery, family and life in general, come on in, put your feet up, and I'll put the [virtual] kettle on.
looking good... I have posted pictures for years and no one has come back and demanded I take them down .. so go for it and dont feel guilty x after all they are hung in a public place and anyone who wants to copy them will do so anyway xx Folks get too precious some times xx
ReplyDeleteOooh, teeny tiny!
ReplyDeleteWow - that really is micro quilting, isn't it? Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGlad you stopped shopping long enough to look at some quilts Benta! Makes you feel you are just a beginner!
ReplyDeleteIf only I had the patience (and skill!) for these. I love the black and white scene. Thanks for sharing Benta. I am with Diane on people being a bit precious, you would think they would be happy that someone liked them enough to take a photo of them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. Amazing work.
ReplyDeleteI always try to credit the creator of quilts I share on my blog (I take a photo of the label alongside - thank goodness for digital cameras) but I agree with Celtic Thistle and Diane-crewe, these quilts were displayed in public and therefore they have "left home". Like our children, we care for them and nurture them but once they're out in the world they're not ours to control any more.
