Problems with my Pouch

Following yesterday's reverse applique, I thought the fabric would work well as a wide mouth pouch.  I found Anna Noodlehead's fab instructions, but my fabric piece didn't quite lend itself to her method, so I bodged it a bit

The pouch does everything it's meant to:

It looks fab

It opens really wide

But it's not quite stable!

I suspect its because I made the fabric into a tube, THEN added the zip,and I guess I've distorted its shape, but it does hold whatever I want to throw into it, and I do love the grey / red combo

  1. Stick a brick inside (equivalant), zip it up and stick it in a corner for a week or two. See if it behaves better.

  2. I like Kathy's idea - you could also put in a plastic canvas base (cover it with co-ordinating fabric) - that'll make the bottom stable, and the sides are probably stable enough to stand on their own then. Or use the brick ... HA! I think you made a very lovely pouch!

  9. At least the bottom of it looks just as good as the sides :) This was a really good use of your reverse appliqué.
