Ooops and Double Ooops

Not quite sure how it happened, but Mr Postman brought me TWO packs of fabrics I seem to have ordered

However, I still don't have enough - no, don't laugh, I seriously don't have enough - I started to make this Somerset Star as a sample for a class I'm teaching on Friday,

And I'm one red triangle short!!!

Can anyone think of a good reason why one should be a different colour to the rest, or do I have to use it as a this-is-what-can-happen-if-you-don't-prepare-properly example?

  1. It's always nice when fabric comes in the mail. Unless you need the green and red block for something other than the class, I'd use the green as an example of preparing, like you said. In any case, it is beautiful. : )

  2. Yes I agree. It breaks up the flow of the pattern if you throw in the green. It's a gorgeous star tho

Where did you find the pattern? (Not that I'll ever be able to make anything like this, but one can dream)

  4. I love fabric in the mail! The block looks cool. I thought it was meant to look like that. Kinda like a ferris wheel or a snow globe.

  6. Hmm, you don't sound in the least bit contrite about all those parcels. Sure you need more though...

  8. More fabric, surely always a good thing? After all, we can see what happens when someone runs out of a colour (really? after all those quilts with red in you don't have something that you can substitute / go half and half with?). It looks really nice, Benta, and I'm disappointed for you that you don't have that final piece of fabric!

  9. I'm sure nobody would mind. After all, you are supposed to teach them techniques, not perfect pieces!! xxx
