So I've had two machine embroidery projects for weddings this week: Gothic initials onto silk for Fiona, and tissue pouches for Kate
Last week I confessed to all sorts of problems fitting a stocking lining into a stocking, and this week I am back in the dunce's corner: two sets of Gothic initials are in the wrong place on the fabric, and Kate and Jimmy get married on 13th September!
As I'm clearly rubbish at doing this at the moment so instead I've been helping re-roof our shed today, and now I'm off to babysit six week old twins and their just-two-year-old sister, it's GOT to be easier than the sewing I'm trying to do!
I started this blog for me - it expanded to show BFF Jackie what I was doing - and a few others have invited themselves too - everybody welcome! Mostly about patchwork, with random comments about embroidery, family and life in general, come on in, put your feet up, and I'll put the [virtual] kettle on.
Ever thought your machine was out to get you?! Hope this week is much better
ReplyDeleteI'm procrastinating getting into my mess of a sewing room.
ReplyDeleteGive me sewing any day over six week old twins, and as for teetering on a roof! No chance :) Sure the initials will be fine!
ReplyDeleteOh no! You are having a bad run on the sewing! Hope that it all improves after you've put yourself through your other hard work!
ReplyDeleteso glad we met as I can now picture you up on the roof! I am sure the wedding pouches etc will work perfectly when you return to them, a doddle after babysitting I should think
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with it. Hopefully you just needed a little break from sewing.
ReplyDeleteI think we could probably do an entire blog on sewing booboo's - so sorry about your initial placement and wedding date sew (faux) pas! I hope your machine really isn't out to get you - LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Fiona - I'd rather sew than babysit infant twins and a 2 year old - oh my! Helping reroof a shed doesn't sound too bad - I'd be in the "bake cookies for the people brave enough to climb on top of the roof" department though ;)
Hope the break from sewing did the trick! Looking good Brian!
ReplyDeleteIt seems we all get days like this sometimes! Hopefully, when you get back to it the sewing will all go smoothly :)
